Question X-Plane 11 FPS problems

I have a Power Spec 350 Computer
Intel Core i7-7700k 4.2ghz
NVIDIA GeForce 1080 8GB GDDR5X
16GB DDR4-3000 Ram
3 Vizio TV's for display

I am running X-Plane 11. For 3 years had very high frame rates. For no apparent reason, FPS dropped to 5-10 FPS. Tried adjusting graphics settings with no change, even on the lowest quality settings. Tried a new graphics card GeForce 2060 Super, no change. Took the computer to the geeks at MicroCenter (where purchased) and they checked everything. Determined that the chipset drivers needed updating. Brought computer home, no change in FPS with either graphics card.

Any ideas?

What might have changed?
Possibly malware or a virus?

I might expect some sort of a cooler issue causing cpu throttling.
What is your cpu temperature at idle?

So the computer had full diagnostics at the service center. No malware and all hardware checked out OK. Just downloaded Coretemp. Temps are:
Tj. Max: 100
All 4 cores are around 29.

Use MSI Afterburner or HWmonitor to measure your temps. Include CPU and GPU temps idle and while gaming.
Make and model of your PSU?

So the problem appears to be fixed. The store (where it was built) wiped the hard drive and re-installed the operating system. I re-downloaded X-Plane 11 and it seems to be working at the proper speed.
