yeah i was checkin out scsi controllers on pricewatch.com and found this:

adaptec 3950U2B Ultra2 PCI SCSI Card Dual channel LVD 80mb, OEM Card for $129

i have no clue but is that good price or is there a smaller and less expensive controller for my seagate cheetah x15 i plan on buying?

Yeah, that's a pretty good price, actually. Anyone who doesn't tell you that SCSI is expensive is lying.

That SCSI controller is only an Ultra2 controller (80MB/s), the Seagate Cheetah X15 has an Ultra160 interface (160MB/s). While you could hook an X15 up to an Ultra2 SCSI card I think you would be cheating yourself out of some performance. For a good Ultra160 SCSI card you will probably have to spend about $150-200 for an OEM. I suggest the 'Adaptec 19160 Ultra160 SCSI controller'.
