Couple things to know. First off there are 2 M.2 slots but only one of them is PCIe, and has dedicated lanes unrelated to the GPU slots. The other one is SATA. Secondly adding a second GPU is a waste of time/money, most new software does not support SLI. Its a dying technology.

Next thing to know that it does not half the ability by halving the lanes/version. It does somewhat limit it but the difference is quite minimal. That said in most cases SLI is about 1.5x not 2x performance. Again though not worth it.
