I'm still deciding to get a x1800xt 512mb. I know that this card has 60billion operations per second, whereas the x1900xt has 166billion/sec.
Will I see any performance difference in speed?? I know that the x1900xt is a much better than the x1800xt, but will the performance be noticable?
The x1800xt has only 16 pixel shader units where the x1900xt supports 48 pixel shader units, I dont want to buy a card that will be worthless in a few months. Still cant decide. I only have enough $$ for a x1800xt 512mb. So I have no other option

Don't get hung up on operations per second, pipelines, memory, interfaces, shader units, etc.

You're not buying a videocard for transistors, you're buying it to play games.

These are interesting topics for the entheusiast, but if you're buying the first order of business is benchmarks.

Study them. Find out which runs faster, and base your decision on that. After you've got a good idea how cards perform relative to each other, then use the knowledge you've gained as a factor when you buy.

But don't buy a card because it has more transistors or shaders than another without knowing how they perform.

"The x1800xt has only 16 pixel shader units where the x1900xt supports 48 pixel shader units,"

The 1900XT is indeed one sweet card, but if you cannot afford it, shoot for the 7900GT over the 1800xt instead!

Thanks I'll keep that in mind! 😀
I know that the x1900xt performes much better than the x1800xt, but I only have so much$$$, so im going to settle for the x1800xt 8)
I'll manage until Physix comes around, then I'm goin to crossfire it, If that option will be available, which i doubt it. So until then Im stuck with the x1800xt
