Hello guys.

I have a Sapphire X1950 Pro AGP (stock cooling) with the fan speed set to 100% in ATI Tray tools and idle the card gets around 50C-55C Idle.

When I play games that give me high FPS the temp can go over 100C which worries me.

I'm thinking about getting this cooler http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SY-008-ZA&tool=3, if I was to fit that on my X1950 pro would I see a temp drop?

Any information/advice appreciated.

Thanks.

it should get cooler.

before u go about buying it, have u made sure your cards fan is on right and that the heat sink is "dust free"?

I have that card and it usually idles at 40ish now days with my fan set at 40%, going up to a max of 60 while gaming (fan at this point goes up to 55%)

Hello and thanks for your reply.

The fan is definatly on correctly. I recently put some new thermal paste onto the GPU.

The fan is dusty but nothing too bad, I clean it regularly but sometimes it's really hard to get the dust from the middle of the fins.

hmmm...in which case u can give the cooler a go, or wait for further suggestions.

normally i use a can of compressed air to blow it clean.
