X299 filling 8dimm with dual channel?

Hi Everyone,

My friend was planning getting Gigabyte X299 AORUS GAMING 7 along with intel i7-7820X and
he want G.skill Trident Z RGB ram to fill all 8-dimm slots but the problem is in our location only got dual channel 2x8GB G.skill TZR ram kit.

Is it possible we buy 4 sets of G.skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-2400 16GB(2x8GB) F4-2400C15D-16GTZR to fill all 8-dimm slots without any error?

yeah he absolutely can. Generally speaking getting a quad channel with 8 dimm setup is best for ensuring everything plays nice but I have got several single dimm packages for a dual/tri/quad channel setups. Everything needs to be exactly the same though. Same make model command rate, speed, i mean everything must match. And event then no promises but it usually works fine. This is why they have those huge 8 dimm setups you can buy, they are guaranteed to play nice. I just find it is usually cheaper to get a few single/dual channel set-ups then one large 4+ dimm setup. Save cash risk potential headaches. It is about what your willing to put up with? Save some cash and maybe have to swap out a ram stick or two to be replaced if they don't play nice or paying more and knowing it will just work.
