Hi,

My platform is an old Optiplex 980, that I've upgraded from 235w to 275w psu
Crammed a gtx 750ti card, 16gb ram and SSD

Now the question is: Is it worth upgrading the cpu from i5-650 to lets say x3460?

Dualcore 3.2ghz vs Quad 2.8ghz

Gonna be used as the title states HTPC/low end gaming

I guess my real question should be, does any1 know if there has been any bios update that supports other CPU's, or is i7-875K my "best" option...

Update: I bought the X3460, and it works great. Also the GTX 750ti works wonders when you have no more than 235w, but I bought the "Dell Optiplex GX520 GX620 755, which has 275W", felt more comfortable with that.

The i5-650 did bottleneck the 750ti a little.
But for gaming I think the i5 would be sufficient enough,
