X370 killer sli memory issues

Hi, be gentle!
I haven't built a pc for must be nearly 15 years. I thought it's time for an upgrade.
So I bought a x370 killer sli mobo and a ryzen 5 1600x cpu and some gskill trident z F4-3000C15D-16GTZR I didn't realize it wasn't on the qvl until last night. I've updated the bios to 4.6 but it won't post with xmp. But is stable at 2133mhz. Should I cut my loses and get something on the qvl or should I hold out in hope for it to get supported, if such a thing is possible?

Have you tried to flash newest BIOS ?

You will have to manually set the speed and timings in the bios, looks like the CPU supports 2667Mhz but the board will allow a OC to 2933Mhz.

But yeah AMD's are very picky on what ram is used so if its not on the QVL you might have to be stuck at 2133Mhz

2667MHz is just a break point for Ryzen, above that IMC considers it OC while DDR4 itself above 2133MHz is considered OC. BIOS is there to adjust RAM to proper frequency either thru XMP or manually. Those QVLs are never even close to testing all available memory and are just small sample. Any RAM with same characteristics as those in QVL are just as compatible. XMP is same for any RAM without regard to AMD or Intel.
