Hi guys I'm going to be building a new system very soon when the new Ryzen CPU and MBs are released. Just looking for everyone else's opinions on the deffirence between the two and is the new chipset work the extra price tag? A few months ago I heard the main selling point for most was the ability to OC into the mid 4000mhz but since then there's been rumours suggesting the memory controller will only be good for 3800mhz on the Ryzen 3000 and then the infinity fabric gets halfed...This is leading me to believe people with push for 3600-3800 and then tighten the timings up leaving the headroom the x570 provides useless, well for gaming anyway. Apart from what I've already mentioned are there any other differences that make the x570 worth buying for a gamer.

Solution
I'm going to upgrade to 3800x any my MB is quite capable of supporting it as well as at least 3900x. Don't see no use for x570 for now, relatively expensive just for PCIe 4 and some very small improvements. With latest BIOS it's already compatible with 3rd gen with PBO2 working fine. Unless you want some of those glamorous features tpp x570 MBs bring, a good x470 will do just as good. Although x370 will also work, I'm afraid some of best 3rd gen Ryzen features may not be applicable. PBO2/XFR2 are those features that matter for most. Normal OC is limited only by VRM anyway but auto boost much less.
