X370 or B350

I was gifted an MSI X370 Gaming Plus motherboard brand new. I was thinking of building with a Ryzen 5 1600 and a B350 but now that I have a X370 should I just keep it or sell it to buy a B350?

Just keep it. It's hardly worth the hassle of selling. You won't get much out of it. Ryzen 5 1600 is a solid choice for the price. I'd go with it unless you want Ryzen 7 or the 2nd gen Ryzen coming soon.

Ryzen 7 is better. Get it if you need the extra cores. If it's for gaming you won't need the extra cores. If you want to do production work get Ryzen 7. But that said Ryzen 5 1600 isn't bad at all for video editing or game streaming. Unless you're getting this to be used like a workstation I'd go for Ryzen 5 1600.
