I know theoretically it probably wont work out the box, but my motherboard doesnt have flashback, so is it safe to try and put the 5600g in just in case the bios was updated out of the box, because im pretty sure I bought after January 2021 when support got added to X470

It shouldn't harm your CPU to try right away, but a BIOS update (which should be harmless) should improve your chances of your CPU working. You might not have an EZ flash option on your motherboard, but updating your BIOS isn't impossible. Check your motherboard manual to see your options. Which exact motherboard do you have?

Also, there's no guarantee your the needed BIOS version that supports the 5600G is already installed simply cause you bought it after a certain date. There's a chance that your motherboard was already produced and on a shelf before the BIOS version was released.

I know its not impossible, but like can i try without any harm just in case. Just because i dont have an older CPU so i'd have to go to a computer shop or something where they would probably charge something stupid.

Motherboard is MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max

When someone tries fitting an AM4 socket CPU in a motherboard that doesn't have the supported BIOS version installed, monitors just stay black. The computer doesn't boot, but it leaves the CPU intact. It either just works or it doesn't.

That being said, I don't see any text confirming that your motherboard supports the 5000 series. When I check the BIOS drivers page for your motherboard, there is no text whatsoever backing "5000 series support". If you check the X570 Gaming Plus page, there are two updates that mention they add support for specific CPUs. Since that is missing on the X470 variant and there's no text on text on the main page, I think your CPU isn't supported on the motherboard.
