Hello,

my first post , sorry if something is not described ok, so let me know:

Problem:
I have changed my processor from 5200x to 5600x and i am getting problems with W11 freezing.

The reason i upgraded to 5600x is due to iracing upgrading my simrig pc and my memory should be DRAM be 3200mhz but is running in W11 with speccy at DRAM 1066.4 Mhz ?

What have i done:
  • I had installed other strips (2 x PNY 8GBF1X08QFHH38-15-K-HXR), but these also freezes, afterwards i saw they are not compatible with this mainbord?
  • Used the A-XMP function, i get 2 profiles, profile 2 was the exact stepping of the PNY, 8GB DDR 3200 PC4-25600, CL 16-18-18-38 1.35v dimm.
  • Unfortunately my windows freezes after i go in the race (probably more cars and more calculations needed)
  • Reinstalled my old memory the 2 x 8 GB dual channel CMK16GX4M2B3200C16, now it runs stable, but also the 3200 mhz is still 1066.4 mhz...
  • When i go the msi.com, i read with Memory compatibility support depends on the CPU memory controller (Pinnacle/Raven), how can i check this?
I see , memory by A-Series, Memory by RX-1X00, Memory by RX-2X00G/GEMemory by RX-2X00Memory by RX-3X00GMemory by RX-3X00, which should i get?

My question, I want to go to a 32GB memory... guys..please tell me what should i buy before i have the same issue, i already bought 16gb wrong.. the compatibility list is not helping me with all those mems....

Also...what is the best option to place A1 B1, or A1, A2 and another memory B1 B2 ? I read having dual channel you need to use A2 and B2 ?

I am lost sorry...thanks for a good answer!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

AMD don't seem to have a 5200x processor listed. You sure you got the processors mentioned right? You're not referring to the Ryzen 5 2500x, now, are you?

PSU:Cooler Master V Series V1000
How old is the PSU?

BIOS VERSION: 7B79vAL (latest 2022-08-04)
Motherboard: MSI X470 Gaming Plus

Did you clear the CMOS after you've verified that the BIOS was successfully flashed to the latest version?

2 x PNY 8GBF1X08QFHH38-15-K-HXR
CMK16GX4M2B3200C16

Are you trying to mix and match ram sticks/kits? If so, please stop. You're advised to work with identical sticks of ram.

Do you have the proper chipset driver?

You might want to get out from under windows and use memtest86 and see what it has to say about the ram.
