All,
I recently picked up a 3700x to upgrade from my 7600K. The i5 has done me well, but has been lacking for some of the modern titles i play, as well as some of the applications i run daily. I know there are a ton of threads out there on the above subject, but its now April of 2020 and i havent seen any threads recently on the topic. I have now been searching for a motherboard to pair with my new CPU. I still keep hearing mixed results as to if paying for the X570 is even worth it currently, despite getting closer (maybe with COVID) to having more GPUs that can support PCIe 4.0. I plan to upgrade and keep this build for 5+ years after these upgrades, and a jump from 1080 to 2070/2080 super. Below are a list of what i have been looking at as far as motherboards go:
X470 ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Wifi (Can pick this up for about $200 at the moment)
X470 ROG Strix-F
X570 ASRock Taichi
or X570 ROG Strix-E
Im really leaning toward the Crosshair VII as it is readily available, but i would like the hear input from the community. Any and all input it appreciated!
