X48 samples already out

It seems that Gigabyte has alrady launched the nex x48 samples into the world.

Check this out

There are even some really good pictures of the chipset.

First thing i notice... where has all the slots gone? 2 pci-e16x and 2 pci... that aint many... and yet its got 8 USB on the back plate...

Whats so good about the x48 anywayz? there aint much difference with the x38

As Far as I know:

Fixed some X38 problems that showed their ugly head during the test period

Full Support for the FSB 1600 MHz

...

I'm totaly confused why intel launched the x48 so soon... there must be something really wrong with x38 ?!

I hear that lot of manufacturers have complained abou this early launch of the new chipset... but it seems that Gigabyte has the first one again.
If I remember correctly they were the first ones with the X38 also.


Does any 1 know more about the X48 changes from the X38 ... ?

oh man and i wanted to buy a new X38 motherboard by the end of this year.... i guess that im gonna wait for the nehalem and the new interface
