X58 Motherboard compatibility with RX480

I have an Asus Rampage 3 Formula X58 mobo and it's about 5 years old. With the whole power issue that has circulated Reddit/other hardware sites, I'm at an impasse. I have a RX480 already shipped and was wondering whether or not I should just return it. My old video card (HD7950) died not too long ago (Artifact on startup/bios).

It's hard to tell if your motherboard will react to the power draw of the 480, but it does appear to affecting some users with older motherboards.
Up to you really , i would personally wait and see what the 1060 has to offer
