Kind of confused by all the different graphic cards which would be the better card vanilla x800 256mb or x800gt 256mb and how good is a vanilla x800 say cmpared to a 6800 gt thanks Edd

The x800gt is better than the x800 both are 12 pipelines

x800 core/mem 400/700 bandwith 22.4GB/s,
x800gt core/mem 500/1000 bandwith 32 GB/s.

If you can find a x800gto that is even better.

I`M Recommand A GeForce 6800 Series Too , They Have More Horse Power Than ATI X800 Series , (Don`t Go For ATI Unless You Have Enough Money To Buy A X1800 Series or X1900 Series Video Card...)

The X800GT has 8-pipes, the X800 and X800GTO have 12-pipes.

As far as speed, the original X800 256MB had much higher clocked memory than most of the 256MB ones now. Maybe now with the GTO release, they keep the X800 mem clocks lower. But if we are talking memory clocked over 900MHz, then the X800 would be great. If it's the more common 700 MHz mem like the 128MB versions, then a GF6800 would be better. Also the 8-pipe GT with it's high clocks will trade blows but come out on top of a 12-pipe 400/700 X800.
