The release date, does that indicate when it hits retail channels? or just "released" and is gonna take another month before we could buy it.

Humm... It's hard to tell, but many sources claims that ATI don't want to do paper launch. If it's true, we should see X800 within a couple of weeks after the release date on store shelves.

Do we know when Geforce 6800 will be on shelves?

During first two weeks of May, at least that's what my distributor's telling me. The estimated MSRP of the 6800Ultra built by Asus is at 799.99CAD, MSI at 749.99CAD, Albatron, Aopen, Evga, Gainward, Chaintech, expect to see those at about 699.99CAD The non-ultra should be at about 399.99CAD, so get ready to empty your wallets.

Too much for me! I can't find the courage to spend 219$CA on a Radeon 9600 PRO, so I will not open my for these cards!

I really want them, but I don't play enough games to justify this investment. I will probably wait for 6800 or X800 version in my price range 200-250$CA. By the time they will be sold at this price, Radeon 9800 PRO will probably cost less than 200$CA!

The 9800pro's going away, it's gonna be gone in about 3 months if not less. After that all you'll find is some crappy left over powercolor 9800pro.

Ouch! I will surely skip Radeon 9X00 generation then!

I think I always skipped a generation...
Matrox Millenium 2
Skipped Matrox Mystique
Voodoo I
Skipped Voodoo II/III
GeForce 256
Skipped GeForce 2/3
Radeon 8500
Will probably skip Radeon 9X00 / GeForce FX

We're talking about CAD here, currently the 9800pro lowest retail price's about 289. Even though the distribution price's like 220 now.

If it makes you feel any better, why don't you buy a 9200se, which is about 50CAD, then you could say you didn't skip the generation...

Good idea! And I would get less performance, because 9200se are slower than my Radeon 8500... But, a GeForce FX 5200 would be a smarter choice, because it support DX9 and it's much more slower than my 8500 in DX8.1 games! Maybe I can find some of this cards in the garbage at my computer store.
