The PC build using ASUS X99 deluxe was working without problems for several days.

CPU i7-5630, Crucial 2x8gb 2400, gtx 780

(1) All started with BIOS update from within BIOS with EZ Flash 2 (from v1103 to v1502)

(2) After restart ASUS logo appears, then message "BIOS updating" for 5-6 seconds (Q code 70 shows during this time, also LED boot devices on the board is alight) then the board restarts and all repeats and so on (endless loop)

(3)
Clearing CMOS has no effect on this behavior.
BIOS update using USB BIOS flashback has no effect on this behavior.
Disconnecting all apart from cpu, ram, GPU card and keyboard has no effect.
Keaboard is recognised but has no effect (del or F2 or F8)

(4)
Summary: After BIOS update with EZ Flash 2 the motherboard behavior described in (2) was unchanged despite all efforts.

Hope some of you expert guys can advise :)
Tnx in advance!

For Flashback, have you renamed the file from X99-DELUXE-ASUS-1502.CAP to X99D.CAP ?
Save it on a FAT 32 formatted USB drive and connect it to the designated USB port (check the manual for its location).
Don't start the board. Press the Flashback button for 3 seconds and wait until the led stops flashing (1-3 mins).

Interesting idea... I'll look into it. Though that's a rather unusual way:)

My hope really is to understand what the Q code 70 and the shiny "LED boot devices" mean. I put my problem in the pipeline at ASUS support... who knows, they may say something useful.
Chip switch is really only viable alternative if warranty doesnt work.

In fact what makes this frustrating is that the USB flashback is supposed to work exactly in this kind of situations...
Oh ye...

Tnx for your time anyway.

What was the date that you switched bios to 1502. Let me explain 1502 was put on their website then removed and reinstated. The second version has a serious problem where you cannot flashback no matter what you do to a prior bios. After a lengthy conversation with their escalation team they admitted they are aware of the problem and the only thing that can be done is to send them the board on an RMA or purchase a new bios chip and specify what bios you want placed on it. Even though it's under warranty they will not give you the new chip without paying for it they will however reflash it to a different version if you RMA the board at no charge. As the owner of an electronics company we are aware of the problem they have not made public. A recommendation for a replacement bios would be 1203 because that appears to be the most stable. The preceding bios 1305 does have some bugs in it so I recommend you stay away unless you are running Windows 8 or 8.1. If you contact me I will send you copies of the confidential information they don't want you to know.
