XB271HU vs PG279Q

I have been locking for a new monitor for a while now and I have managed to narrow it down to two different monitors, the Acer XB271HU and the Asus PG279Q.

I have heard mixed reviews about both monitors, Asus' terrible quality control, Acer's awful design and terrible OSD.

I'm open to any comments about the monitors from anyone.

Asus has better monitor design from a "furniture" perspective, my concern with Asus is the widely variable component quality / performance.
