Xbox 360 afterglow controller doesn't work

I plugged in my 360 controller today to find it shockingly doesn't work, I've tried unplugging both parts of the wires and nothing works. what happens is when the controller is plugged into the system the controller starts to flash the blue LEDs inside the controller and the xbox green ring just stays solid and won't bind to a player or anything, anyone had this issue and know how to fix it? it doesn't work on my 360, or my PC same issue on both systems.

if it's wireless, did you sync them?

It's wired, that's why it was plugged in, but I fixed it, unsure what was wrong but I unscrewed it completely and then it turned on just fine.
