Xbox 360 controller wont connect via wire to windows 10

i'm trying to connect a xbox 360 via cable to my windows 10. when i plug the controller in in makes the usb connecting sound and the controller starts to bling when i turn it on and doesn't stop. i can't see the controller in devices and printers, i did go in to "devmgmt.msc" in the windows run and did the update thing but it didn't change anything... please help
 
I may have a solution for you.
If you open Device Manager in Windows 10, it shows you a list of all connected devices to your PC. If you connect this controller, an "Unknown Device" may appear. What you want to do with this is right click on it, Update Driver - > Browse my computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer -> [Scroll down to] Xbox 360 Peripherals -> Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. This tells the system what the device is, and how to use it. Let me know if this solution works :)
