Xbox 360 controller won't connect

Hello there!
I'm having problems with connecting my Xbox 360 controller to my PC. I know there are multiple solutions for this but guess what? None of them have worked for me so far. I tried unninstalling the driver, then reinstalling the driver. I tried both, the cd, and the web driver. I'm at the end with my nerves over this. Please if any of you know how I could fix this. The only thing my controller does is, that when i turn it on it starts blinking ( imean the four quadrants around the circle thingy).

Do you have a USB receiver for the controller? Or is it a wired controller?

I have a USB reciever. BTW I am an idiot. I read about the solution a million times but I just wasn't really looking at my options. I just had to install the latest driver from my XBOX 360 controller drivers (something like that) and that was it.

I have this problem and i also installed the latest driver but it just keeps blinking..
