So this might be more out of the ordinary then your average post on these threads, but I decided I would give it a try...

This guy just reached out to me about a facebook ad that I posted. I am selling my xbox 360 and a few games... anyways he wants to trade me his macbook pro for for my 360 games...

I asked him for specs and some other stuff... He said it is 2 years old and he is getting the specs for me.

Is this worth it? How were these Macbooks performance wise? I know since its a mac I don't really have to worry about viruses. Or is this more likely a scam?

His Facebook page says he studied computer repair at Kansas State.

Thanks, not really familiar with Mac's but I love them. Just looking for some advise.

Without knowing the exact model it is impossible to say what performance would be like (but ptobably not a good choice if gaming is your thing).

It is a fallacy that you don't have to worry about viruses with OS X; you should take the same precautions as with Windows.

Any MacBook Pro is worth a lot more than an XBox 360. You have to decide for yourself whether it's a scam, but I would be very, very careful.

I will get back soon on the model. I already have a custom built gaming PC, don't really need it for gaming purposes, probably media, school, and web surfing.

I have a feeling this one is refurbished, and that is why he feels it is valued the same as my 360. Or for him he just needs a 360 and feels a trade will suffice. I have a few games I would be giving him as well. He says it works. Is there anything I should ask him or look out for when I look at the macbook before I make a deal?

The cheapest "buy it now" 2 year old MacBook Pro on eBay at present is $600; for a working one $800. You might win an auction for less, but not that much less.

Make what you will of that - would someone really offer $800 worth of computer in exchange for an XBox 360? As I said, you have to decide for yourself whether this is a credible transaction.

Yeah, ill figure that out on my own... Now lets say it doesn't work as well as I thought it would, could I make a lot off of parts?
