Xbox 360 graphics seems awful

Urm, Hello, so i recently buy a Xbox 360 (yeah i can't afford much, im only 15).

So I hooked up my 360 with my PC monitor,since it doesn't have a hdmi port,i used a dvi/hdmi cable. All is fine but it seems that the graphics are not upto the mark. I mean obivously 360 is old gen and i shouldn't expect too much but i have seen some gameplay on the 360, and for me they are pretty neat, but on my 360 the graphics looks awful. I don't really know that is the problem, seeking some help :/

Your picture doesn't look great because all of the footage you've watch is in 1920x1080 resolution. Your monitor is 1600x900 resolution. The difference in resolution (more or less picture quality) is why it doesn't look great. You will need a decent 1080p display to get it to look the best an xbox 360 can look.

That's what i thought but sure needed an expert opinon. Thanks alot m8. I guess PC gaming is better after all.

You're welcome. PC gaming is definitely better, but consoles have a place.
