Xbox 360 outputs

I would like to connect my Xbox into a HD moniter into a DVI port from the HDMI output. I understand that this will produce no sound, so i plan to put the analogue SCART/YPbPr lead in as well and connect that with an adaptor to speakers through a 3.5mm jack input. Before i bought anything, i tested to see if i could change the audio settings on the Xbox 360 so i got Video out through the HDMI port and Sound through the analogue SCART/YPbPr, but hte menu said that it would only change settings for HDMI and Optical Line out. Does this mean i will automatically get sound through my analogue SCART/YPbPr and video through my HDMI output or would this not work?
