Hello,
I am using viewsonic va712b monitor for my xbox 360,i am using hdmi to dvi d cable for it, the maximum or native resolution of my monitor is 1280*1024,i am using expanded reference level for my xbox 360 over monitor is it good to use or should i use standard or intermediate?
and one more thing the aspect ratio of my monitor is 5:4 which is sxga- i can choose both standard and widescreen format of display but standard is 4:3 and wide is for 16:7 and above so which 1 should i choose?

Solution
For a PC monitor you usually want to use Expanded, standard and intermediate are intended for TV's. As to the resolution/aspect, if you don't mind letterboxing use a widescreen resolution, you might get odd stretching on a 4:3 resolution, but it shouldn't be too bad. My 360 is hooked to my monitor with the VGA cable, so it lets me select the specific resolution I want to use, not sure what options you have using a HDMI>DVI cable.
