XBOX 360 thermal pad question.

I take the thermal pads off to clean the board-- they are suppose to only last so long, correct? If I replace them how am I suppose to know what to replace them with? I found 5mm thermal pads but with 1.5w and a 3w. I'm actually unsure of the thickness of the original xbox thermal pads. Do you have any recommendations? I actually have some k5 pro but like I said the original pads are thick. If I reuse the pads could I just clean them with 99 alcohol

You take a sliding caliper/ruler/scale and measure the dimensions of the thermal pads.
