Hello,

I'm going to make a gaming room (projector on the wall, new desk, monitor) just something little. And I have a choice either to get a Xbox 360 or a gaming PC. I'm having a really hard time choosing one. I can only afford one or the other.

What I dislike about PC gaming is most games I want to play there is no split screen so when my friends come over (which is hardly) I can't beat them in Black Ops 2 or anything of that nature.

What I dislike about the Xbox is that I can't play any new games that would be coming out in the future.

Here's the gaming PC I am thinking about building: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Xz4vhM

Here's the Xbox 360 I am thinking about buying (with a 32/64 GB flash drive): http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-4GB/dp/B00D9EPI38/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424114200&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox360

I would upgrade the computer I have now if it wasn't 5 years old and plus, it wasn't made for games.

What do you guys recommend?

Ofc gaming pc all the way, or pick ps4 if you want.

Beacuse right now xbox 360 is a coughing old man what can't do much.

This build is good, but for future upgrades Z97 would be better instead H97 if you will do overclocking, and you could buy cheaper case and better card.

Ofc you will buy hard drive, do ya?

gaming pc is the way to go IMHO, and here is why.

1: better graphics even over a xbox1/ps4
2: more future proofed then xbox 360
3: more up-gradable (councels just don't keep up with the games) example: gta v on xbox 360 runs choppy as hell.
4: better percision (especially for FPS)
5: more functionality (meaning can be used for more then just gaming and playing movies)
6: more options for modding your system's look (nearly unlimited options)
7: well just overall better performance

I would take the PC. Either that, or get an Xbox One and save some more money for a PC. Xbox 360 is on its way out and its really not worth spending any money on it.

Yes I have a 1 TB hard drive and a optical drive. Thanks for the help! I might follow your suggestions but to me the case looks really cool. Plus I figure i would go Full Tower for the case so if i want to build another one, I can just re-use that

Thanks for your answer!!! Those are some really great points :)

Yeah I agree, the PC vs. console movement is kind of a moot point. Any PC with a strong CPU and a dedicated graphics card will far outlast any console. Consoles only have a shelf life of about 3 years before they're declared obsolete and replaced, where PCs can last 10 years or more with very minor upgrades.

Not to mention you can mod games with PC, upgrade it, play a variety of exclusives, and best of all you have a powerful desktop which can be used for programs besides games if you ever need to.

As for multiplayer using multiple controllers on one screen/split screen there are a few titles that have this feature but they are rare. The only game I have that supports split screen is Grid 2.

When playing with friends your best bet is to run an emulator. I play super smash bros brawl using four xbox controllers and dolphin to emulate the wii console. The best thing about it are the graphic enhancements. I play brawl using 3x the native resolution with 16x Antiscropic filtering and better textures via Scaled EFB copy and it truly looks much better than playing it on the actual wii console itself. Plus you can play it at a smooth 60fps. There are even ways to use wii/gc controllers if you want to.
