xbox 360 wired controller not recognized

My xbox 360 wired controller has all the player lights flashing at the same time and even after installing the drivers, doesn't show neither on the device manager nor on "devices and printers"


EDIT: Solved, the problem was the cable being too tangled up.

"Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again?"

Usually an unplug + plug back in works for me when that happens.
