Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Adapter Error Code 10

I am currently running windows 7, I am unable to install the latest wireless controller adapter drivers, I found one that works but even couple hours it just stops working and I have to restart my computer and reinstall the drivers. I was wondering if there are working drivers alternate to the Microsoft drivers provided. Or just a fix to the error code to (unable to start device). I've tried restarting my PC, reinstalling drivers etc. Its a really big pain because whenever I go to use it it just shuts off

Should I be upgrading to windows 10? ive heard lots of negatives though

Yes. Foreget what you heard. It's a far superiour OS and features alot better integration with Xbox and everything related. Also, it's mandatory if you game as DX12 is exclusive to it.

Only that it's going to take a couple of hours min., probably more. So overnight would be your best bet.
If you do not have the "upgrade to 10" crap in your system tray download the Media Creation Tool from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/ run it and select upgrade now.

I'm 95% convinced it will. You have to run a windows update after the upgrade.

EDIT: The hell am i talink about? ) 100% sure. It's MS, after all
