XBOX 360 won\'t connect to internet!

my sons xbox live worked for over 6months, then stoped....he had a couple of young guys that he used to play with on live..who threatened to hack his account and wipe everything, i thought this was impossible, but not long later he's live conection failed, i was wondering if anybody knows if that could have done anything...if not any other tips would be great, i have gone through every step that xbox tell's you too, when your conection fails...

If you can log in to the account here regardless of an active subscription then your son's Xbox account is fine. http://www.xbox.com/live/accounts/

But if you can log in but is says free member at the top right hand corner then you need to reactivate your subscription by picking up a Xbox 360 Live Subscription Gold Card.

If you can log in and It doesn't say free member on xbox.com, then you have a problem with your home network.
