Xbox / Console Audio through my PC

Using the Turtle Beach XP400s for PC/Xbox audio. Usually I have to switch the optical cables whenever I want to play one or the other. Right now, I connected one of the old style YPbPr connections and used the old Turtle Beach RCA through cable to run a line into my computer and have that Line In on "Listen". While this works OK it is lagged a bit on when I hear the audio. What is your suggestion on a solution. I just built this custom PC and I have room for an audio card if that is the best solution. Thought about getting a mixer unit so that I have a more intuitive control of the inputs and can EQ somewhat.

there will always be a bit of lag, due to the conversions that happen from digital to analog. use a http://www.ebay.com/bhp/dual-headphone-jack at the input (one from xbox, one from pc)... or hook one on optical and one on rca and switch between the inputs of the turtle beach instead of the whole cable
