Xbox controller light burns but does react

I have a USB xbox360 controller for my pc, it used to work perfectly when playing for example dark souls. but now when i plug it in the circle in the middle turns green but the controller doesnt react.

any idea how to fix this?, playing dark souls on my keyboard feels really clumsy (i also tried different usb ports, but it doesnt work)

Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Xbox 360 Controller, restart, and plug your controller in and let it find and install the software for it. If it still doesn't work then your controller is broken :/
