right ive been thinking of upgrading my pc but that has nothing to do with this.

im playing call of duty online on xbox no problem the odd bit of connection lag but thats to be expected
but playing the same game on my pc and its like when talking on the phone with one bar of signal. its just not working like it should (so so much lag) but why, the card is fitted and is up to 300mbps thats like 600 times what im actually geting but i know my internet is very poor anyway but it part that confuses me is why is my xbox better than my pc?

btw im not stupid there are both connected wirelessly on 5ghz band

thanks :)

ok then it looks like i have missed out some required info :/

the xbox and pc are next to each other and they are a short distance from the modem like next to the room above the router if you understand that :)

my pc has a fx 8350 with r9 295x2 and a hybrid hard drive, 16gb of ram, Tp-Link TL-WDN3800 all on a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 AMD 990FX with plenty of juice to power 3 or four gpus but the power isn't a factor in this :)

******************UPDATED*****************

now then the reason i'm planing on upgrading parts is because of bad FPS scores and such.
tbh i never took the thought into account when online i thought that its the internet connection, it may very well be just a bad system config but i am getting a ping of 167-370 online on cod so i really don't know.
i will try a wired connection next i just played the campaign on cod and its much lower resolution tbh but i do get a very small bit of fps lag in cutscenes i will update is an hour or so :)

********************* UPDATE TWO :) **************************

ok now i have my pc next to the modem and ive tested it wired and wireless that includes disconnecting the card :)
both tests there was no lag and a ping of around 60-80 for both wired and wireless so its just a distance problem why is my xbox working better then ????? could the 5 inches to the right make a difference or is it just a better card in the xbox.
or could it be that i just never tryed turning it off then back on again 😉 haha
or or another thought i'm running a fx 8350 with 32 pcie lanes i believe and is each lane set at gen 2.0? would this cause the card to work well but perform worse over a distance or is the cpu actually 32 lanes at gen 3.0 and i'm just stupid?
time to test wirelessly from my room again just to confirm that it is the distance and that there is not other forces at play here :/
I`LL BE BACK

**************************** CONCLUSION ********************************

:) by now i imagine you know i like the smiley faces :) :) :)
ok then is it me or does every MLG cod player use pc ? xbox i get a good K/D but pc its just the opposite
ive now got it in my room and its just the same as next to the modem. god knows what the problem was before but i have somehow overcome it? i don't know. Wirelessly from my room next to my xbox i get a ping or 60-75 instead of the before of 150+. :/ i dont know whats different maybe less network usage being 3am now i don't know
but after all that hauling all of my pc that weighs like a boiler, up and down my stairs i ain't doing it again soon haha XD
so my overall conclusion is only god knows why it works better now. if you have any ideas then feel free to comment them down below :) i may very well choose the best idea as an solution haha :)

He updated his original post with his specs. Tomg1234, can you move your PC and connect it directly to your modem just to test run it and make sure it's not a PC hardware issue and is indeed a network hardware issue?
