xbox one controller broken usb

so the usb port on my xbox contoller broke so i cant use it wired on my pc but can i buy a wireless adapter and use it that way

No, if your controller is not wireless you can't add an adapter on it.

Pretty sure all the XBox 1 controllers are wireless.

Yes if you buy a wireless adapter it will work, but you'll have to put batteries in it as the USB cable can't really be used to charge it anymore.

It it's a USB only controller, there is no place to hook up any type of wireless adapter to it. I'm guessing it's an XBOX 360 controller, the One are wireless, but I think they can be used with a USB cable (where the charging connection is).

Yes but since they are already wireless by default, with a USB cable for charging and secondary use to connect, it would be a bit odd to have someone looking for a wireless adapter for one when it's already wireless LOL I have seen lots of mis-titled posts, if it's really a controller for a One, then no adapter is needed.
