Xbox one controller drivers installed for windows 7, however the controller does not show up in device manager.

Still unsolved. Unfortunate, because this is a HUGE problem. My brother complains that he "can't play Rocket League".
Hopefully someone can fix this problem and let me know. I am running Windows 7 64-bit. Previously the controller worked, but it simply just, stopped working.
So just to clarify, the xbox one controller drivers are installed, however it doesn't show up in devices and printers or device manager.
It is plugged in via a micro usb, I don't have a wireless adapter. However, if a wireless controller adapter will fix my problem, I would be more than happy than to buy one.
