xbox one controller issues

I have tried to plug it into every port but nothing seems to be working. Online it said I should update windows but when I check for updates it keeps searching on a never ending loop. Was wondering if anyone could help me
ps. my windows 7 is authentic

Does the symbol in the middle of the controller light up when you plug it into a USB port?

no my controller vibrates

the controller vibrates and then a quick noise goes off thats about it

When you plug in the controller, the Xbox button should light up. Is this a real Xbox One controller, by the way?

yes its the offical xbox one controller and i already tried the way you linked me
