Xbox one controller vs. Xbox one S for PC gaming win 7

I have tried looking everywhere for good answers but hard to come by....

From what I know the Xbox One controller works with PC wireless as long as you have the Xbox adapter for like 25 bucks,

The Xbox one S controller however has Bluetooth build it so I am thinking I can get away with buying a Bluetooth dongle and have it work with my pc but i keep reading it has to be with windows 10 regardless! i just dont know if it would work on my windows 7 pc with the dongle or the xbox one adapter.

Trying to figure out the best thing to do I dont have enough money to be buying and trying trial and error here

I thought that it would work with any compatible Bluetooth adapter, so I don't think that will require Windows 10.

No trial and error. Once it's released there will be plenty of people testing what works. Just wait and buy whatever is supported.

One of the things i saw there too on that site is in windows 7 is supported not bluetooth but theres this note

"Note Wireless connection requires Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows"

So I am assuming both the Xbox one and one S controller with the xbox adapter would work wireless right?

If I have to buy the adapter to make it work wireless no matter which remote i wonder if the new s controller is worth it but i think they are only 10 dollar difference.
