Xbox One disc drive fault

Okay, so I have an original Xbox One. Had it since early 2014. Never had any issues. Recently, it's started making a weird noise (as in, it's trying to read a disc, even when there's no disc in it). It also does the BEEP noise if I press the eject button, even if there's no disc in. If I press it again, it does that same sorta reading disc noise from inside the console.

It's also sometimes powering itself on because I think it thinks that there's a disc in there when there isn't.

Could this be a software or a hardware issue?

It's strange. Had the thing 6 or so years and it's only just started doing it.

It’s not strange at all you probably use it a lot and over six years if you’ve played a lot then it’s bound to have some problems

Suppose so. Guess I'll have to go get a One S or the like. Thanks anyway.
