Hello.

first sorry if i put this thread in the wrong place cause i really tired finding good websites. I only find this the best for gaming :).

so i've been wondering. Xbox one is it free region? what the difference between the PAL and NTSC? is there any Hz difference or all of them work at 60Hz? and does the PAL Version Count games As Dollar or Euro ? and can be changed?. and can I play with NTSC if I had a PAL?

Please answer cause i have same this problem on my wii u and i dont wanna repeat that mistake Thanks :)

Solution
XBO is region free, so you will be able to play any game of any region on any console of any region, but only for retail copies.
Digital delivery will require you to have a valid payment option for the country you're buying from, as well as use their currency, and DLCs might not be available outside of release countries due to copyright or publisher issues.

I don't own an XBO, but I found this pretty easily via Google :p

If by "US/Japan" you mean all of North america, most of South America, and parts of the Pacific, sure

Most of Asia follows PAL standards. A good breakdown:

well I live in the middle East. im in United Arab Emirates. and i called many shops. they told me You are in middle east so you have to go with the pal one. but i ordered the NTSC one. cause i already have a NTSC PS3 and its been with me for 5 years and i have no problems until now and its works great.

the reason i bought ntsc xbox one. thats I bought wii u before 3 months . its was PAL. and after 1 month. i knew the pal one was just a trash. cause the ntsc open games at 60Hz. and pal open at 50Hz. and now i leave the wii u.

is that thing also in the xbox one?

I don't know, but at least the PAL Xbox 360 had the option to let you choose screen resolutions (720p or 1080p) and refresh rates (50hz or 60hz), provided the monitor supported them. The XBO probably has them too, but I'd rather have the confirmation of someone owning it...

Edit: I'm an idiot...
Progressive scan resolutions always work at 60hz, unless the limitation is put there by the game itself (and that's VERY rare if not improbable, as games usually put up a frame limiter).
As long as you're not using something as old as SCART, or any analogue transmission technology really, you'll always run 60hz if you're running at progressive resolutions (that's 720p, 1080p or anything higher) and the TV/monitor supports it.

Technically, resolutions, progressive or otherwise, have nothing to do with refresh rate. You can totally do 1080p @ 50Hz.

The 50Hz/60Hz difference is largely due to the phase difference in power distributions across most of the world. Would be a problem if you don't go through a converter that makes sure the incoming power to the console is the correct phase.
