I heard that xbox one s can play 4k games. Since it can play games at console settings, 4k, and dsr, what is the gpu that is equivalent to the xbox one s?

Solution
4K Ultra HD, 4K Blu-ray and High Dynamic Range support

This is arguably the most important feature of the Xbox One S. Not only does the Xbox One S support 4K video playback from streaming services like Netflix and Amazon, it also has a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray built-in.

Plus, it can upscale games to 4K

When the Xbox One S was first announced, Microsoft neglected to mention that the new console is also capable of upscaling games to 4K.

The upscaling capabilities were revealed by Jeff Henshaw, Group Program Manager at Xbox at an E3 session (via TechRadar).

Henshaw said: "It's not native 4K, but the Xbox One S can upscale games from 1080p to 4K."

It can't play in 4K. Period.

In terms of technical specs, it'd be an 8-core A4 AMD APU clocked @ 2.7 GHz or so.

In terms of amazing optimization alongside the APU (pretty much overall performance), I'd say it's equivalent to a GTX 660.

Several spec teardown reports have uncovered slight difference in the graphical hardware performance of Xbox One S. Specifically, Xbox One S has a small GPU clock increase of 914 MHz from 853 MHz and an ESRAM bandwidth increase of 219 GB/s from 204 GB/s. These bumps are only noticeable in-game in a small number of situations. In fact, they exist only as an bonus side effect of Microsoft ensuring HDR content performs without a hitch.

The Xbox One S doesn't have a 'GPU'. It uses an integrated iGPU off of a modified version of an AMD A4 APU called 'Jaguar'. So in other words the Xbox One S has a slightly overclocked APU.

Project Scorpio, tentative release December 2017, will have native full 4k 60Hz game capability.

Xbox One has hdmi 1.4a so technically capable of 4k playback at 30Hz, which is useless for games but adequate for media content. Xbox One S has hdmi 2.0 so is capable of 60Hz
