Hello everyone. I recently purchased an Xbox One Controller with the wireless adapter for PC. I'm on Windows 8.1.
My issue is that while I'm playing certain games, the controller will randomly disconnect and it will reconnect, just won't work in the game. I have to restart the game or just use keyboard mouse to play until I restart it. Then after a game restart it will work for a random amount of time and then disconnect. This is especially frustrating in GTA Online.

I would suspect it's a hardware issue with the adapter or XBOX controller.

I don't think it's a software issue. If possible, try to test:

1) with different PC, and
2) different XBOX ONE controller

I would suspect the wi-fi USB receiver first.

Other: I doubt it's the USB connection but try switching your MOUSE and adapter around (if the connection is problematic your mouse should have issues).

Did you ever find a solution? I have a similar problem but for me the controller doesn't even connect wirelessly.

No solution. Sometimes it will disconnect and sometimes it won't. In the recent weeks though it has not disconnected even once so I never even found out what the issue was and I guess it resolved itself.
