Xbox original games to xbox 360 question

So i want to play for example harry potter Philosopher's Stone can i put the original xbox game to my xbox 360 and play ? i have hard drive but the thing is my console is pal version and a store here in greece has the harry potter game at pal version too will this work ? cause i hear this will work only at the american versions.

Backwards compatibility on the 360 is rather spotty. You have to connect to Xbox Live to download a patch to allow it, and it doesn't work with all original Xbox games, Microsoft eventually discontinued offering backwards compatibility before they got patches out for every original Xbox game. First off find the list of backwards compatible Xbox Original games for 360 and make sure that specific title is on the list, if it is you're going to have to hope that the Xbox Live servers for the 360 are still up and they still offer the backwards compatibility patches.
