Question Xbox pc adapter with usb extender

Got the new Xbox wireless adapter to use a controller on pc. The thing works if plugged into the pc directly but where I have the main tv I have to use a usb 2.0 repeater extender. The cable is fine because everything else works perfectly ( Logitech keyboard, Xbox controller connected via usb cable ) on it. The adapter however just plays the windows disconnect sound every 3 seconds or so. Any clues what’s wrong?

Too long of a USB length can cause issues. Contact the vendor of that extender you bought for support or try another brand/model.

Ok, but the cable works perfectly fine with other things like a keyboard or mouse. Does the adapter need more power or something?
