The internal app that came with the OS of the TV (this is right before they started using Android TV as Standard) for YouTube won't play a video with a higher resolution than 1080p.
I've used a Playstation 4 to play 4K content, including the YouTube app from the Playstation Market place. It works fine.
I'll literally be playing the exact same video, but if I play it off of the TV app, it doesn't play anything higher than 1080.
I've checked both app versions, thinking maybe it was out of date, since the TV is 7 years old now, but no, it is actually the most recent version of the app.
I've obviously checked for internet issues and speeds, everything is working fine.
The problem seems to be the TV operating System notl"allowing" the tv's version of the app to play 4k content.
I've checked the "info for nerds" option on the videos, and it seems like it's not even getting the option to allow higher resolutions (under optimal settings), even though it's running the same app version, under the exact same wifi signal.
Any ideas?
