Hello everyone :)
I have a new PC and when I start Xcom: EU it gets past the 3 logos/intros and the crashes to the desktop "Xcom enemy unknown has stopped working". I have updated the drivers, reinstated, used different compatibility modes and checked the integrity of game cache.

What is relay confusing is yesterday I installed "NVIDIA GeForce experience" and once I optimized the game with it it ran fine for hours, but once I had turned of the PC, the net day I went to play and had the exact same problem as before. The game was still optimized from before hand. I also uninstalled Avast antivirus, which worked once then the same problems happen again :(

My Specs: (Also this is the steam version with no Mods)

Processor AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor Video Card 1 ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics Video Card 2 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Memory 7.9 GB Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit

Its really frustrating as all my other games work fine. Thanks for any help :)

Now,easily i would have said that you are not running the required hardware for this game but no!,this isnt a problem at all since all your components check up!,I can see that this game is very buggy!,i suggest to Update to the latest drivers and wait for some patches!,this is a big problem in...

EDIT! i think i might have a reason for the crush!,If you have any built in GPU into your processor or motherboard then there could be a chance XCOMEU is running using them instead of being pointed at your GTX 660

Ok thanks for looking :)

How do i check? I've done the right click on my desktop and done the whole NVIDIA control panel if thats how its done? :p

So I have to just wait until they come out with a fix? :( Is there a way to run the game as an old version of the driver (like how I can run a game in an older version of windows)?

What really confuses me is that I was able to play it yesterday, when I brought Bioshock Infinite. Gah its hard to embrace PC gaming if I spent all this money on a new PC only to find out my old once could run it better *cries* lol

But really thank you for trying to help :)

i had said this in my answer, however do you know how to redirect from XCOM to the built in GPU to the GTX660
scratch that here it is!:
"
In the nvidia control panel, select the "Desktop" menu at the very top and make sure that "Add 'Run with graphics processor' to Context Menu" is checked.

Find the game folder and make a desktop shortcut for "Diablo III.exe" (NOT the launcher). Right click on the shortcut, and in the target field, you should see something like:

"C:\game folder\Diablo III.exe"

Append a -launch operator at the end of this line. It should now read:

"C:\game folder\Diablo III.exe" -launch

To play the game with your nvidia GPU instead of crappy Intel HD, right click on that shortcut, select the "Run with graphics processor ->" menu, and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor." "

obviously choose EU instead of Diablo ! as i picked this up from elsewhere! it should clean up the problem

another for future ref http://superuser.com/questions/578148/intel-hd-graphics-4000-is-used-instead-of-nvidia-geforce-630m-for-old-game

Hello! Sorry I haven't been able to reply work picked up suddenly :p

I have figured out why the games are not working, my ati radeon 3000 driver is giving me "error code code 43". I can play the games IF I uninstall then re-install I am able to play it fine. But of course this is a MASSIVE hassle :p

The status says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems.".

Do you know what to do? No worries if not xD
