Hello,

I have an old Dell PC with an Intel Xeon e-5320 (quad core, 1.9ghz) and I am planning to upgrade GPU to a GTX 950 Unplugged from ASUS.

I was wondering, would I be better with a Core2Quad (q6600) or keep the xeon? (for gaming, I heard about bottlenecking, does this occur more or less on either CPU?)

Basically,
1) I want to know which CPU will be best for gaming purposes
2) I want to know which one will bottleneck more

Thanks!

Motherboard Has LGA775, the Xeon is LGA771, It has some sticker on it to make it work...

Solution
The Core2Quad q6600 is a bit faster than the Xeon E5320, and therefore it wil bottleneck less. If you've got a Q6600 laying around, or you can get one for real cheap, you should use it instead of the Xeon cpu. The Q6600 will give you better performance overall, also while gaming.

yea and agreed. also the sticker is a CPU socket mod that allows it to be used in a 775 socket. found some on ebay the other day. well I am pretty sure you also had to cut some stuff....idk for sure. well the Q6600 is faster, agreed. also that Xeon is slower in case of clock speeds too, making it even slower.
