So my Q9650 died and I have to buy a new one, but the CPU is very rare that I couldn't find any other than bundled with motherboard and RAM, and I found out that Xeons are being used on old Core 2 Duo Dell Optiplex. What Xeon CPU is compatible with this 0M863N motherboard? Does Xeon CPU even work with LGA 775 socket?

Solution
Yeah the seller already modified the notches of the CPU but Idk if it will work with this PC.
Those are fakes that were never originally made by Intel. I wouldn't touch one of those.

Instead I would look for an x3370 or x3380--these were Intel made lga775 xeons that will work as long as your bios will support it, which it seems like it should according to the solution in this thread:

And the x3380 is actually a hair faster too, so it's an upgrade if you can find it:

I have an x3360 in one of my Dells because the q95xx was just too expensive for the upgrade and it works great.

I've already found a Q9650 but I'll try Xeon CPU you suggested, for sure. Thanks!
