Helloo Guys,

While playing AC Origin my CPU temp reached maximum of 85C (I've been gaming for a while on this cpu but never notice CPU temp since)

Is it safe for this kind of ivy bridge cpu or its little bit higher than safe temp of this cpu, i have been searching for hours in google about this but no one talks about the max safe temperature.

CPU: Xeon E3-1240 V2
GPU: Zotax GTX 1050 TI OC 4GB
Ram: 8GB DDR3

Thanks

Solution
for me gaming, thats way to high. It should be about 65c.

It could be a couple of things. Fans not spinning right. Thermal paste losing it's efficiency after extended use, or dust build up on CPU cooler/fins.
Try cleaning those up a little, if needed and see to do the temps come down. If not try replacing thermal paste. That should do it.

I'd expect temps of 85c stress testing (and still that would be too high for me). What idle temps have you got? Should be anywhere from 28-35 ambient dependant.

Yeah i recently clean that mess up and apply fresh thermal paste after experiencing 85c (MAX), after that not a bit avail.

Ild CPU temp is 37-40c (my room temperature is aroung 25-26c)

Dont know if casing is causing this temperature but my GPU is running fine on its safe temp around 60-62c while 100% load

keith12 thanks for replying.

No i am not OCíng my cpu because my motherboard does not allow that. Acutyally this cpu is turbo boasted it reached automatically to 3.80 ghz when needed (stock speed is 3.40 ghz)

And no i did not update the bios since i bought this pc. the tech guy in the store said this bios version is enough to run the CPU smoothly do not update it after that. on the other hand i bet the new bios update would'nt available for this Intel 3rd generation CPU supported motherboard (DH61CR) as it is old one and dicontinued so long ago.

BTW its not always 85c, i can say its 80c avg. fluctuate around 75-83c

So, you think reaching 85c is not safe temp for this type of cpu, or it should'nt meant to be around that temp (79-83c) while gaming ???

Update: i doubt thermal paste which i recently applied is not enough or something else causing high temp, maybe AC ORIGIN as it is heavily dependent on CPU, and i did not try any other game since i started noticing my XEON CPU temperature...

What do you suggest ?

Should i apply enough thermal paste and seat the cooler properly again ? (BTW its intel's stock cpu cooler) or buy another cpu cooler?

Okay, update the bios. Check the website for the most recent one for the mobo, and see if the Xeon is on the list of supported CPU's, if it is update, if it isn't don't!

IMO, your CPU should not really go above 65c for gaming. When you say stock cooler, was that a cooler for another CPU? As in, not the Xeon? If so what was the older CPU. Okay AC may be a CPU dependant game, but such high temps are really for stress testing, which AC is not. Try some other demanding games and see what the results are.

Also, it might be a good idea to look into a new cooler. The Xeon is a 65w CPU, so a decent Intel stock cooler should do fine. But getting something like a Hyper 212 would be better and reduce temps. I'm not saying to buy one just yet, but you can look at compatibile coolers for your mobo as a back up.

Solution
Nah my mobo supports LGA1155 3rd generation CPU's and Nope Bios update isn't available, but the latest bios date is back to 2013 and its installed already and it doesn't say win 10 (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23393/BIOS-Update-BEH6110H-86A-?product=51857)

its kind of a trouble or not ? About bios as it does not support win 10 ?

BTW by the look of it (cooler) im not think its working with its full potential but it im pretty sure its for Xeon E3 Family,

But here the good news as u suggested i tried another AAA game (witcher 3) and play it for at least half of an hour and CPU temp does not goes above 62c, but it also use half of the cpu's power (maybe its bottlenecking) btw i dont care if its bottelnecking or not its giving me average of 40fps on high setting im happy with that, thing bothering me is AC origin high cpu temp becuase after quiting withcher 3 i start AC ORGIN again and it stays around 77-81c some times 83c (CPU TEMP)

information scattered throughout the internet that AC Origin is CPU hungry title so it has intensively high cpu usage thats why i getting the avg of 85C on this specific title.

BTw thank for the help Dear i really appreciate it.

and sorry for my bad english

Thank

no probs. :)
