Currently I have the following build which I re-purposed from a Lenovo Thinkcentre E31 and placed into another case
Xeon E3 1220 Sandy Bridge
16GB RAM
Nividia 1060 (from prev build)
256GB SSD (from prev build)
TT 450W PSU (from prev build)

I have the opportunity to purchase the following build through an IT department for $300 AUD - it's a Lenovo P300
Xeon E3 1241 V3 Haswell
32GB RAM
256GB SSD
Optical Drive

At the moment my current system does not have USB 3 - the newer one obviously would. I would likely place it into my existing case for the space

I figure is the CPU jump worth it based on the cost?
The PC is used for games at Med+ settings @ 1080P, general PC tasks etc

The Haswell i7s/Xeons are still pretty powerful CPUs for 4 cores.

Might have to swap the PSU to power the 1060, but otherwise it looks like a pretty good price for that. If you are hoping to gain lots of power, you probably won't see that, but it should still be a noticeable improvement.
